Reed Hadley was an American movie, television, and radio actor born on June 25, 1911, in Petrolia, Clay County, Texas. He was born Reed Herring to Bert Herring, an oil well driller, and his wife Minnie. He had a sister named Bess Brenner and was reared in Buffalo, New York, where he graduated from Bennett High School and participated in local theater with the Studio Arena Theater. Before moving to Hollywood, he acted on stage in New York City in Hamlet. Hadley was married to Helen, and they had one son, Dale. Throughout a thirty-five-year career in film, he was cast as both a hero of the law and a villain. He died on December 11, 1974.
