Overview

The Aquatope on White Sand is a Japanese anime television series produced by P.A. Works as the fourth entry in its Working Series. The show aired from July to December 2021. The story follows eighteen-year-old Kukuru Misakino, who works at the Gama Gama Aquarium in Okinawa. Kukuru encounters Fuuka Miyazawa, a former idol from Tokyo who has left her previous life behind. Fuuka joins the aquarium staff, where she spends her days alongside Kukuru. As the two girls navigate their personal dreams, reality, loneliness, and friendships, they must also confront the impending crisis of the aquarium facing a potential shutdown. The narrative explores the bonds and conflicts between the characters as they deal with the mysteries of the facility. The series features voice performances from Miku Itou, Rikako Aida, Shimba Tsuchiya, and Lynn.
