More than a Married Couple, but Not Lovers is a 2022 television series categorized as animation, comedy, and drama. The series is based on a Japanese manga of the same name written by Yūki Kanamaru, which began serialization in the magazine Young Ace in March 2018. The plot follows Jiro Yakuin, a third-year high school student who is paired with his classmate, a gyaru named Akari Watanabe, for a school project. This assignment, known as marriage training, requires students to practice living as a married couple. Although Jiro and Akari are described as complete opposites, they agree to participate in the project with the specific goal of performing well enough to earn the right to switch partners. By successfully completing the requirements of the marriage training, both students hope to eventually be paired with their respective crushes.
