Rashida Leah Jones is an American actress, writer, and producer who was born on February 25, 1976, in Los Angeles, California. She is the younger daughter of media mogul, producer, and musician Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Jones is known for starring as Ann Perkins on the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation from 2009 to 2015, earning critical acclaim for the role. Her television credits also include appearing as Louisa Fenn on the Fox drama series Boston Public from 2000 to 2002, as Karen Filippelli on the NBC comedy series The Office from 2006 to 2011, and starring in the lead eponymous role in the TBS comedy series Angie Tribeca from 2016 to 2019. Additionally, her film appearances include roles in I Love You, Man, The Social Network, Our Idiot Brother, The Muppets, and Celeste and Jesse Forever, which she co-wrote.
