Overview

The story centers on an eleven-year-old girl named Riley Andersen, whose life changes when her family moves from the Midwest to San Francisco for her father's new job. Inside Riley’s mind is a control center called Headquarters, where her emotions—Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Sadness—guide her through everyday life. When the transition to a new city causes turmoil, the emotions attempt to help Riley cope with the challenges of growing up. The situation becomes complicated when Joy and Sadness are lost, forcing them to embark on a journey through unfamiliar places within Riley’s mind to return to Headquarters. The voice cast includes Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, and Phyllis Smith. The film was released on June 19, 2015.
