Haskell's father was geophysicist Norman Haskell, and his mother was Rose Veronica Golden. He attended Browne & Nichols and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Harvard University after serving in the United States Army. Haskell's initial plan to study at Columbia Law School was altered when he was cast in the off-Broadway play The Love Nest in 1963. He appeared in numerous television shows throughout his career. Haskell passed away on April 12, 2010, at the age of 75.
