Nancy Jane Kulp was an American character actress born on August 28, 1921, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She is best known for portraying Miss Jane Hathaway on the popular CBS television series The Beverly Hillbillies. Over the course of her acting career, she accumulated sixty-nine known credits in film and television before her death on February 3, 1991, at the age of sixty-nine.

In 1955, Kulp joined the cast of The Bob Cummings Show, which was also known as Love That Bob, starring alongside Bob Cummings as the pith-helmeted neighborhood bird watcher Pamela Livingstone. During the mid-1950s, she also took on other television roles. She played the role of Anastasia in three episodes of the NBC sitcom It's a Great Life across 1955 and 1956. Additionally, in 1956, she appeared in the episode titled Johnny Bravo of the ABC and Warner Brothers series Cheyenne, acting alongside Clint Walker.

Furthering her television work in 1958, Kulp appeared in a pilot episode titled The Fountain of Youth for the television series Colgate Theatre, a project directed by Orson Welles. Throughout her career, she was also known by the alternative name Nan. Her acting work spanned various television programs and networks, cementing her recognition primarily for her television character work until her passing in 1991.
