Miguel Ferrer
Biography
Miguel José Ferrer (February 7, 1955 – January 19, 2017) was an American actor born in Santa Monica, California. He gained breakthrough recognition portraying Bob Morton in the 1987 film RoboCop. His film work also includes roles as Quigley in Blank Check (1994), Harbinger in Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993), Shan Yu in Mulan (1998), Eduardo Ruiz in Traffic (2000) and Vice President Rodriguez in Iron Man 3 (2013). On television he is known for playing FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield in Twin Peaks (1990–1991, 2017), Tarakudo in Jackie Chan Adventures (2000–2005), Dr. Garret Macy in Crossing Jordan (2001–2007) and Assistant Director Owen Granger in NCIS: Los Angeles (2012–2017). He was sometimes credited as “Mig.”

Following RoboCop, Ferrer appeared in a range of supporting roles across genres. He played Harbinger in the 1993 comedy Hot Shots! Part Deux, Quigley in the 1994 family adventure Blank Check, and the villain Shan Yu in Disney’s animated feature Mulan in 1998. In 2000 he portrayed Eduardo Ruiz in the crime drama Traffic, and he later returned to the superhero genre as Vice President Rodriguez in the 2013 film Iron Man 3.
Ferrer's television work included recurring and guest appearances. He is known for portraying FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield on Twin Peaks during its original 1990–1991 run and again in the 2017 revival. He voiced the character Tarakudo on the animated series Jackie Chan Adventures from 2000 to 2005, and he played Dr. Garret Macy on the medical drama Crossing Jordan between 2001 and 2007. From 2012 until his death in 2017, Ferrer was a series regular as Assistant Director Owen Granger on NCIS: Los Angeles.
