Matthew Paige Damon, born October 8, 1970, is an American actor, producer, and screenwriter. He gained prominence in 1997 with Good Will Hunting, which he co-wrote with Ben Affleck, earning them the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Damon is known for portraying Jason Bourne in The Bourne Identity (2002) and its sequels. His acting career began with Mystic Pizza in 1988. He has received an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and multiple nominations including three BAFTAs and seven Primetime Emmys. In 2007, he was named one of Forbes' most bankable stars and by 2010 was among the highest-grossing actors in film history.
