John Ashley was an actor born on December 25, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was best known for his work in films for American International Pictures, including the Beach Party films. In the 1963 film Beach Party, he played Ken, the best friend of Frankie Avalon. Aside from acting in films such as horror movies shot in the Philippines, he also produced films and television series, including The A-Team. On television, he appeared with costar Brian Kelly in the ABC half-hour series Straightaway, which focused on auto racing and ran on Friday evenings during the 1961 to 1962 television season. John Ashley passed away on October 3, 1997.
