Overview
Surfwise is a 2007 American documentary film directed by Doug Pray. The film explores the inspiring and tumultuous story of the eleven member Doc Paskowitz family. The documentary centers on eighty five year old surfer, health advocate, and sex guru Dr. Dorian Doc Paskowitz, his wife Juliette, and their nine children. The children were all home schooled and raised in a small camper on the beach. While living there, the family surfed and had to adhere to the strict diet and lifestyle of animals in the wild. The documentary premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2007, and later had its United States premiere on May 9, 2008.
