Joseph Maxwell Dempsie is an English actor born on 22 June 1987. He is widely recognized for his portrayal of Chris Miles in the E4 teen comedy-drama Skins from 2007 to 2008. He is also known for his role as Gendry Baratheon in the series Game of Thrones, appearing between 2011 and 2013 and again from 2017 to 2019. His early career included roles in medical dramas such as Peak Practice, Doctors, and Sweet Medicine, as well as the films One for the Road and Heartlands. Additionally, Dempsie appeared in This is England '86, This is England '90, the BBC documentary-drama Born and Bred, and played the character John in the series The Fades.
