Tom Ellis is a Welsh actor born on 17 November 1978 in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. He is also credited as Thomas Paul Ellis and Thomas Ellis. Ellis first gained recognition playing Dr. Oliver Cousins in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. He later portrayed Gary Preston in the BBC One sitcom Miranda from 2009 to 2015. His career expanded with the role of Lucifer Morningstar in the urban fantasy series Lucifer, which aired from 2016 to 2021, and he appeared in the Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths in 2019. Additional television credits include the character Justyn in Channel 4’s No Angels and Thomas Milligan in the series three finale of Doctor Who.
