Evanna Patricia Lynch is an Irish actress and activist born on August 16, 1991, in County Louth, Ireland. She is best known for portraying the character Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter film series. Lynch made her film debut in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2007 and reprised her role in successive sequels to critical praise, concluding with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in 2011. Following her work in the franchise, she appeared in the film G.B.F. in 2013 and made her stage debut that same year as Bess Houdini in a UK tour of Houdini. She also starred in the independent drama My Name Is Emily, which premiered in 2015 at the Galway Film Fleadh to critical acclaim.
