Edward Matthew Lauter Jr., known professionally as Ed Lauter, was an American actor born on October 30, 1938, in Long Beach, Long Island, New York, and he passed away on October 16, 2013, in Los Angeles at the age of 74. During a career that spanned over 40 years, he appeared in more than 200 film and television productions, frequently taking on character roles.
