David Wu Tai Wai is a Hong Kong-Canadian editor, director, and actor of film and television born in Hong Kong in 1952. Known for his collaborations with directors John Woo and Ronnie Yu, he is recognized as the editor of international cult classics including A Chinese Ghost Story, Hard Boiled, Bride of Chucky, and Brotherhood of the Wolf. He has received twelve nominations for the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Editing, winning twice for Hard Boiled in 1992 and The Crossing in 2014. Additionally, he has been nominated for several Directors Guild of Canada and Leo Awards. His birthdate is July 31, 1952, and he is also known by the names Dawei Hu, Dai-Wai Woo, Hu Da-wei, and Hu Da.
