Chris Bruno (born March 15, 1966) is an American film and television actor from Connecticut. He is best known for portraying Sheriff Walt Bannerman on the USA Network series The Dead Zone. His brother, Dylan Bruno, is known for playing Colby Granger on the series Numb3rs. While attending college in Vermont, Bruno was active in both theater and sports; an injury ended his skiing pursuits, after which he auditioned for and was cast in the lead role of The Mandrake. He later transferred to the State University of New York at Stony Brook as a theatre major and served as the starting pitcher for the school’s baseball team. Shortly after graduating, he joined the cast of NBC’s soap opera Another World as Dennis Carr.
