Buddy Ebsen was an American actor and dancer. He had a career spanning seven decades, including starring roles in the CBS television series The Beverly Hillbillies and Barnaby Jones. Ebsen was cast as the original Tin Man in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, but fell ill due to a reaction. He had starring roles in the long-running television series The Beverly Hillbillies and the 1970s detective series Barnaby Jones. Ebsen's career on television included appearances on CBS, and he was a performer for seven decades.
