The Carol Burnett Show is an American variety and sketch comedy television program that originally aired on CBS. The series ran from September 11, 1967, until March 29, 1978. During its primary run, the show produced 279 episodes, followed by a return in the fall of 1991 for an additional nine episodes. The program originated from Studio 33 at CBS Television City and featured a core cast including Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, and Lyle Waggoner. Tim Conway also appeared as a frequent guest star before joining the cast. The show featured a variety of songs and comedy skits performed by the troupe alongside celebrity guests and the Ernie Flatt Dancers. Over the course of its history, the series achieved significant critical recognition, winning 25 prime time Emmy Awards. In 2002, TV Guide ranked the show number 16 on its list of the 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time, and in 2007, Time magazine included the series as one of its 100 Best TV Shows of All Time.
