Biography
Ato Essandoh is an American television and film actor. Born on July 29, 1972, in Schenectady, New York, he graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1990. Essandoh holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Cornell University, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and the Irving Literary Society. He also studied acting at the Acting Studio in New York City and is a playwright, having authored Black Thang, published in the anthology Plays and Playwrights 2003. His parents are from Ghana, West Africa. Essandoh is also the co-founder of The Defiant Ones writing and performance group.
