Amy Lou Adams is an American actress born on August 20, 1974, in Vicenza, Veneto, Italy. Raised in Colorado, she is the daughter of Kathryn and Richard Kent Adams, a United States serviceman. Adams is recognized for her versatility in both comedic and dramatic roles. Throughout her professional career, she has been featured three times in annual rankings of the world's highest-paid actresses. Her professional accolades include two Golden Globe Awards. Additionally, she has earned six Academy Award nominations, seven British Academy Film Award nominations, and two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
