Closing the 2022 season, along with Hong Duy, Vu Van Thanh, Cong Phuong and Van Toan, Luong Xuan Truong decided to leave HAGL. The destination that the Tuyen Quang midfielder chose was Hai Phong Club. However, because of issues related to injury, performance and compatibility with coach Chu Dinh Nghiem’s football philosophy, Xuan Truong is only a luxury reserve at the Cang football team.

During the entire 2023 season, Xuan Truong appeared in only 11 matches. In fact, in no match did he play the full 90 minutes. That means they are often replaced or come on from the bench. Therefore, it is not surprising that the total time the Tuyen Quang midfielder appeared on the field was only 485 minutes. Not only that, Xuan Truong did not score any goals or have any assists.
Entering the 2023/2024 season, things are not better for Xuan Truong. He has only appeared in 2 matches in the V.League and 4 matches in the AFC Cup, of which only 1 match lasted 90 minutes, did not score any goals and did not create any assists. Clearly, Xuan Truong is not the preferred option that coach Chu Dinh Nghiem uses at Hai Phong Club.

However, recently, sharing with the press, President Van Tran Hoan of Hai Phong Club revealed that it is difficult for Xuan Truong to return to his old team LPBank HAGL before the second phase of the 2023/2024 season. Bau Hoan did not reveal the reason why it was almost impossible for Xuan Truong to “remarry” with the Mountain City football team.
