According to the authorities, on December 7, the authorities received information from people about the discovery of human remains in the wastewater tank behind Mr. NVQ’s house in village 5, Lai Xuan commune.
Through verification, the police determined that the discovered remains were Ms. NTT (born 1988, residing in village 5, Lai Xuan commune). This woman’s family said she had been missing since December 9, 2010.
Through review, police identified the suspect as Bui Trung Thanh. At the police station, the subject admitted that on December 9, 2010, he robbed Ms. T. at Mr. NVQ’s house and then caused the woman’s death. After committing the crime, Thanh hid the victim’s body in the wastewater tank behind Mr. Q’s house.
Before that, on the evening of December 6, Mr. NVQ (in Lai Xuan commune) went looking for the family dog. When he arrived at the abandoned water tank in the garden without a fence, he was worried that the dog might fall into a nearby water tank so he came closer to check.
Here, Mr. Q. discovered an intact set of remains inside the septic tank. Immediately afterwards, Mr. Q. reported the incident to the local authorities.
DNA examination results requested by Hai Phong Police showed that the remains belonged to Ms. NTT (born 1988), showing signs of being beaten and causing injuries.
