Before that, at about 11:10 a.m. on January 9, Su22 aircraft number 5880, piloted by pilot Do Tien Duc (born in 1988). According to information provided by the pilot, while on a training flight, the plane encountered a problem, lost control, and was unable to land. The flight commander ordered the pilot to try to get the plane out of a populated area and parachute.
The pilot tried to fly the plane away from residential areas and parachuted at a location 19 km south of the runway in Dien Nam Trung commune, Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province. At the crash site, there were no casualties, the pilot parachuted safely and his health was stable.
The plane crashed, injuring a resident who is being treated at the hospital; The roof of a house blew off, the area of garden ground and crops was damaged nearly 100 m2.
Authorities later repaired these damages.
