From a scientific perspective, to identify and distinguish ancient ceramic lines produced in the Southeast region, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hau believes that it is necessary to specifically determine the names of three ancient but closely related ceramic areas: Bien Hoa ceramics – Saigon ceramics – Lai Thieu ceramics.
Saigon ceramics include Cay Mai ceramics (Cay Mai kiln located in Cay Mai mound area in District 11), Lo Gom hamlet (Hoa Luc village, Phu Dinh district 6, district 8). Saigon is an ancient place that refers to today’s Cho Lon area – where Lo Gom hamlet is recorded on maps and in history books.
