As this story begins, Joseph and Mary have come to Bethlehem. But because of the registration, there are many visitors and Mary and Joseph cannot find a place to stay. And as night falls, Mary’s birth pains begin. So, Joseph’s only option is to find shelter in a cave reserved for livestock. And at some point in the night, Jesus is born. God announces the birth of His Son to a group of shepherds caring for their flacks outside in the fields. They are told to find a baby wrapped in clothes, lying in a feeding trough. So, after the angelic messengers leave, the shepherds come into the town to look for Him and find it exactly as the angels described. After returning, the shepherds told what happened to everyone who would listen.
