The project passes through Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces, with its starting point at Tan Hoa ward, City. Vinh Long, Vinh Long province connects to My Thuan 2 bridge project. The end point is in Binh Minh town, Vinh Long province connecting to National Highway 1 at Cha Va intersection.
The project is invested in 4 lanes, with a maximum operating speed of 90km/h, with a total investment of more than 4,800 billion VND from the state budget with My Thuan Project Management Board as the investor.
The project started construction on February 1, 2021. It is now basically completed and ready to open to traffic and put into operation on December 25.

Regarding this project, the Ministry of Transport said that My Thuan 2 Bridge is one of 11 component projects of the Eastern North-South Expressway in the 2017-2020 period with Project Management Board 7 as the investor.
This is a national key project, a special level road traffic project, the total investment of the project is more than 5,000 billion VND equal to the state budget investment capital.
The My Thuan 2 bridge project is located on the highway from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho, connecting the two highways Trung Luong – My Thuan and My Thuan – Can Tho, connecting the two provinces of Vinh Long and Tien Giang. arterial road, with the highest traffic volume among the main national highways in the region.
The project has a starting point at the An Thai Trung intersection in Cai Be district, Tien Giang province, connecting with the Trung Luong – My Thuan expressway project, and an ending point at the National Highway 80 intersection in Vinh Long city, Vinh Long province. , connected to the My Thuan – Can Tho expressway construction investment project.
The My Thuan 2 bridge project has a total length of about 6.61km, including the My Thuan 2 bridge and the road leading to both ends of the bridge.
My Thuan 2 Bridge has a main span with a cable-stayed structure with an aperture of 350m, a clear clearance of 37.5m, and a bridge deck width of 28m (including 6 lanes) for the first time by a team of Vietnamese engineers and workers. Completely present from project planning, design to construction.
The project started construction on March 16, 2020. To date, the construction units have completed the entire project, ready to open to traffic and put it into operation on December 25 (maximum operating speed of 80km/h).
Putting the two projects into operation helps reduce congestion, limit traffic accidents, and shorten travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho City to just over 2 hours instead of the current 3.5 hours.
The 2 projects help form a complete and modern transport corridor along the Mekong Delta, meeting the socio-economic development requirements of localities in the region in general and Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, and Ho Chi Minh City. .Can Tho in particular.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi – Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People’s Committee emphasized that the inauguration of My Thuan – Can Tho Expressway and My Thuan 2 Bridge have a particularly important meaning for the locality.

Specifically, according to Mr. Ngoi, the two projects, when opened, will reduce pressure on the existing My Thuan bridge and National Highway 1 traffic through the province, reduce logistics costs and shorten transportation time from Ho Chi Minh City to Ho Chi Minh City. Vinh Long province.
