a kawi county man's in big trouble with the law after deputies find what they say was a large quantity of drugs and more than $100,000 in cash but as Fox FES Doug Evans reports the case is even more disturbing considering the allegations that brought deputies to the man's front door in the first place kawi County investigators say they knocked on Melvin Randall Huff's door as part of a child molestation investigation just just one second step back here for me what's going on hey just second I'll let you know is anybody else in the house okay do you mind standing here with Deputy Moran for just a second while we I've got to search one for the property they say they were there with a search warrant to document the inside of Huff's home as part of that child molestation case they say what they quickly discovered was narcotics out in the open while investigating the child molestation case they did see drugs laying in the open um and at that point they obtained a secondary search warrant with a new search warrant to look for drugs investigators say They seized a large quantity of both marijuana and cocaine deputies say they discovered 18 pounds of marijuana 32 grams of cocaine 43 sealed bags of THC gummies as well as 53 sealed Vape cartridges they say they also seized over $147,000 in cash investigators say Huff lives one house down from Willis Road Elementary School in kawia County so they've charged him with dealing drugs within a th000 feet of a school they say they've also charged him with felony possession with intent to distribute marijuana as well as trafficking and cocaine meantime depuy say the child molestation case against Huff continues uh the child molestation case is still ongoing and it's possible that there could be more charges kaita County deputies tell me that even though Huff remains a suspect in their child molestation case he has not yet been charged in that investigation as for the drug investigation they say he now has has ponded out of the kawi county jail in kawia County Doug Evans Fox 5 News
