Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against the makers of Tylenol, alleging the companies concealed risks related to the drug’s impact on children’s brain development.
This lawsuit follows recent public debate over unproven claims that Tylenol use during pregnancy may be linked to autism.
Paxton filed the lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson, which has sold Tylenol for decades, and Kenvue, its spinoff that began selling the drug in 2023.
The lawsuit alleges that both firms knowingly withheld information from consumers regarding Tylenol’s potential links to autism and ADHD.
“These corporations lied for decades, knowingly endangering millions to line their pockets,” Paxton said in a statement.
Additionally, the suit claims that Kenvue was created to shield Johnson & Johnson from liability & “escape responsibility” over Tylenol.
Paxton added that “by holding Big Pharma accountable for poisoning our people, we will help Make America Healthy Again.”
