When word got round that Peter and John were involved in the healing of the lame man at the temple gates, the religious leaders of the day started to get worried. They questioned the pair and soon realised that Peter and John’s extraordinary courage to speak out was because “they had been with Jesus.” After letting them go, thousands of people joined the early church and, like an Army, the battle lines were drawn and the early Christians started to spread the good news of Jesus with signs and wonders.
