The television series "Vampire Expert" revolves around Mao Xiao-fang, an 18th generation disciple of Zhang Tian-shi. Mao travels to Hong Kong in search of the zombie king. Along the way, he meets Yang Fei-yun, a master of numerology and fortune-telling. Mao's exceptional Taoist abilities gain him recognition, which sparks jealousy from the head of the Seven Sisters Hall, Chung Kwan. A complicated dynamic exists between Mao and Chung Kwan, who are bitter enemies. Meanwhile, Mao takes on Chung Pong as his student, a young and talented individual. Mao is unaware of Yang's true nature, which is eventually revealed when Yang becomes embroiled in a complex and ominous situation. The series explores themes of Taoism, numerology, and the supernatural.
