It continues the story of the Fellowship of the Ring as they face the climactic battle for Middle-earth. Aragorn is revealed as the heir to the throne of the Kings of Men, while Frodo, Sam, and Gollum journey toward Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring. The film stars Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen, and Ian McKellen, among others.
