Overview

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is an American science-fiction television series that originally aired from 1993 to 1999. Created by Rick Berman and Michael Piller, the program served as the fourth series within the Star Trek media franchise. The show was a production of Paramount Domestic Television. Over the course of seven seasons and 176 episodes, the series chronicles the adventures of Captain Benjamin Sisko and a team of Starfleet officers. The narrative is set on a remote space station located in the vicinity of the liberated planet of Bajor. Situated at a critical crossroads of galactic events, the station guards the opening of a stable wormhole that leads to the far side of the galaxy. While stationed at this frontier, Commander Sisko and his crew welcome various alien visitors, work to root out evildoers, and solve a wide array of unexpected problems that emerge during their time in command of the facility.
