Overview

Sailor Moon is a Japanese superhero anime television series produced by Toei Animation and based on the manga written by Naoko Takeuchi. The series originally premiered on the TV Asahi network in Japan on March 7, 1992, and concluded on February 8, 1997, spanning a total of 200 episodes. The story follows Usagi Tsukino, a clumsy second-year middle school student who encounters a talking cat named Luna. Luna informs Usagi that she is destined to become Sailor Moon, a champion of love and justice tasked with searching for the fabled Moon Princess. As the narrative progresses, Usagi discovers friends who are also destined senshi. Together, this team of Sailor Guardians fights to protect the universe and save the world from the doom brought upon by the Dark Kingdom. Originally released in Japan as Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, the series features voice performances by actors including Kotono Mitsuishi, Aya Hisakawa, Michie Tomizawa, and Emi Shinohara. It remains a notable adaptation of the original manga source material.
