S.W.A.T. 2017

Overview

S.W.A.T. is a television series that premiered in 2017 and follows a Los Angeles Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics team as they battle crime in Los Angeles, California. The series was created by Shawn Ryan and Aaron Rahsaan Thomas. The cast includes Shemar Moore, Jay Harrington, David Lim, and Patrick St. Esprit. The plot centers on a Los Angeles S.W.A.T. sergeant who is assigned to lead a highly skilled unit in the community where he grew up. As he performs his duties, he finds himself torn between his loyalty to the streets, where police officers are sometimes viewed as the enemy, and his allegiance to his brothers in blue. He must strategically straddle these two worlds while leading his elite team of officers and working to defuse deadly tensions within his hometown. The series depicts the team as they engage in efforts to maintain public safety and address criminal activity throughout the city of Los Angeles.
