Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGoFive is a television series that originally aired beginning in 1999 within the sci-fi, fantasy, action, adventure, and kids genres. The overarching plot involves a character named Grandiene who waits for a day of resurrection tied to a planetary alignment known as the Grand Cross, while her children descend to Earth to turn it into a realm of darkness. Ten years before these events, Doctor Tatsumi of the Tatsumi Disaster Prevention Institute predicted the catastrophe, though no one believed him at the time. He left his family in order to secretly develop and construct the Rescue System. In 1999, Doctor Tatsumi reappears to provide his children with the means to save the world, establishing them as the GoGoFive team.
