Hunting Season, also known by its Turkish title Av Mevsimi, is a 2010 Turkish drama, mystery, crime, and thriller film that was written and directed by Yavuz Turgul. The film went on nationwide general release across Turkey on December 3, 2010, and has a runtime of two hours and twenty minutes. The story turns the lives of three homicide detectives upside-down during a murder investigation. The film stars Şener Şen and Cem Yılmaz as two policemen who team up with a rookie to investigate the case. Specifically, veteran homicide cop Ferman and his hot-headed partner İdris team up with rookie cop and anthropology major Hasan to investigate the murder of a young woman. The suspects in the case include her conservative family, who might have killed her for honor, her drug-dealing boyfriend, and an aged billionaire named Battal who had taken the victim as his second wife.
