Overview
Hi Score Girl is a 2018 Japanese animated comedy television series. Set in 1991, the story follows Yaguchi Haruo, a sixth grader whose primary interest is video games. Haruo is not popular, handsome, funny, nice, or friendly at school, but he possesses significant skill in gaming. His life changes at a local arcade when he plays against his classmate, Oono Akira. Unlike Haruo, Akira is a rich, smart, pretty, and popular girl. During their encounter, Akira defeats Haruo at Street Fighter II thirty consecutive times, and he is unable to beat her at any game. Following this encounter, Akira begins following Haruo from arcade to arcade every day after school. The series is based on a manga written and illustrated by Rensuke Oshikiri, which ran from October 2010 to September 2018. The television production features voice actors such as Sayumi Suzushiro, Daiki Yamashita, and Akira Ono. The series is rated TV-PG.
