Overview

Grimm is an American urban fantasy police procedural drama and horror television series created by Stephen Carpenter, Jim Kouf, and David Greenwalt. Produced by Universal Television for NBC, the show premiered in the United States on October 28, 2011, and concluded its run on March 30, 2017, after six seasons. The series stars David Giuntoli as Nick Burkhardt, a Portland homicide detective who discovers he is a descendant of an elite line of hunters known as Grimms. As a Grimm, Burkhardt is tasked with protecting the human world from supernatural forces and monsters brought to life from fairy tales. Throughout the series, he finds his professional responsibilities as a detective increasingly at odds with his duties as a Grimm. The cast also features Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, and Sasha Roiz. Episodes of the program were directed by individuals including Norberto Barba. The series explores a world where supernatural entities, referred to as Wesen, exist alongside the human population.
