In the second episode of the second season of Game of Thrones, titled The Night Lands, the narrative shifts across several locations within the realm of Westeros. Theon Greyjoy returns to his ancestral home in the Iron Islands. Meanwhile, Arya Stark shares a secret with a familiar recruit. Elsewhere, a scout returns to Daenerys Targaryen with disturbing news. These events occur as the seven noble families continue their struggle for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Friction between these houses has led to full-scale war, while an ancient evil awakens in the farthest north. The Night's Watch, a neglected military order of misfits, remains the only force standing between the realms of men and the threat of icy horror. This series, created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO, serves as an adaptation of the A Song of Ice and Fire franchise by George R. R. Martin.
