Overview

DC's Stargirl is an American superhero television series based on the DC Comics character Courtney Whitmore. Created by Geoff Johns, the show features the character originally developed by Johns and Lee Moder. The series follows high school student Courtney Whitmore, who is described as a smart, athletic, and kind teenager. Her life changes when she discovers that her stepfather was once the sidekick to a superhero. After finding the long-lost cosmic staff belonging to that hero, she begins using it to become an inspiration for a new generation of superheroes. As the story progresses, she joins the Justice Society of America. The series premiered on the streaming service DC Universe on May 18, 2020, with a thirteen-episode first season. The show also aired on The CW, beginning its broadcast on that network on May 19, 2020.
