Beyblade is a multimedia franchise and toyline developed by the Japanese toy company Takara that features battling spinning tops inspired by the traditional beigoma. The 2001 television series follows thirteen-year-old Takao Kinomiya, also known as Tyson Granger, and his teammates Kai Hiwatari, Max Mizuhura, also known as Max Tate, and Rei Kon, also known as Ray Kon. Together, they form a group called the Bladebreakers, striving to become the greatest Beybladers in the world. The team receives technical assistance from their resident genius, Kyoujyu, who is also known as Kenny. The franchise has since expanded to include various iterations, such as Beyblade X, which utilizes the X-Celerator Gear System for high-speed collisions and bursts.
