Sharing Our Story

Scriptures: Acts 8:26-40; John 15:1-8
The early church found itself growing by leaps and bounds – and crossing all sorts of boundaries of culture, geography, language, and more. Some of the growth was intentional – missionaries going out seeking to share the story – some it was natural – new Jesus followers sharing the Jesus story when they traveled – and all of it was an act of following God. In today’s story from Acts 8, Philip is led by the Spirit and shares the story of God’s love with someone unexpected. This story, along with Acts 17 and many other stories in Acts, reminds us that the Good News of Jesus requires us to share the story – to share the story of how God is at work in our lives, of who Jesus is, and of what Jesus is doing. The new church was so amazed by God’s love in Jesus that they couldn’t help but share it.
