On the evening of December 29, the Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province served a decision to prosecute the defendant and apply measures to prohibit Mr. Trinh Van Chien, former Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, from leaving his residence to Investigate violations related to the Hac Thanh Tower case.

Accordingly, Mr. Chien was prosecuted for “violating regulations on management and use of state assets causing loss and waste” according to Clause 3, Article 219 of the Penal Code.
Mr. Trinh Van Chien was prosecuted and the defendant was applied to prevent him from leaving his residence for investigation.
At about 7:00 p.m. on the same day, dozens of officers and soldiers of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police were present at the house at 12 Nguyen Duy Hieu Street, Dong Huong Ward, Thanh Hoa City, where Mr. Chien lives to serve the decision to prosecute. defendant, and at the same time conducted a search of his residence.
