Thomas Gomez was an American actor born in New York City on July 10, 1905. He began his acting career in theater during the 1920s, studying under the actor Walter Hampden. Gomez made his film debut in 1942 with Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror. Throughout his career, he appeared in sixty films. He was the first Hispanic-American to be nominated for an Academy Award, for his performance in the 1947 film Ride the Pink Horse. Gomez's acting credits include numerous films and a television episode, "Ride the Pink Horse," from the series Robert Montgomery Presents.
