Biography

Theresa Russell, born Theresa Lynn Paup on March 20, 1957, is an American actress. She debuted in the 1976 film The Last Tycoon and subsequently secured a lead role in the 1978 film Straight Time. Russell gained critical praise for her performance in Nicolas Roeg's 1980 thriller Bad Timing. Following her marriage to Roeg in 1982, she collaborated with him on several arthouse and experimental projects, including Eureka, Insignificance, and Cold Heaven. Her 1991 film credits include Whore and Kafka. Later in her career, Russell appeared in the 1998 box-office hit Wild Things and the critically acclaimed 2001 drama The Believer. She continued her acting work throughout the late 2000s.
