Rosemary Harris is an English actress born on September 19, 1927. Her career spans more than seven decades across theater, film, and television. She is widely recognized by modern audiences for her role as Aunt May in the Spider-Man trilogy directed by Sam Raimi between 2002 and 2007. Her extensive stage work includes winning a Tony Award for Best Actress for her performance as Eleanor of Aquitaine in The Lion in Winter in 1966. Harris was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1986. Additionally, she received an Academy Award nomination for her role in the 1994 film Tom and Viv. Her career accolades include a Tony Award, an Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe.
