Terence Graham Parry Jones was born on February 1, 1942, in Colwyn Bay, Wales, and died on January 21, 2020, at the age of 77. He was a Welsh actor, comedian, screenwriter, film director, children's author, popular historian, political commentator, and television documentary host. Jones is best known as a member of the Monty Python comedy troupe and team. When he was four years old, his family moved to Surrey in England. He attended primary school at Esher COE school, later went to the Royal Grammar School in Guildford where he served as school captain in the 1960-61 academic year, and read English at St Edmund Hall, Oxford. While at Oxford, he performed comedy with future Monty Python cast-mate Michael Palin in The Oxford Revue.
