He is signed to the American professional wrestling promotion WWE, performing under the ring name Sheamus, which was shortened from his previous ring name Sheamus O'Shaunessy, and he currently appears on the Raw brand. Before joining WWE, Farrelly wrestled on the European circuit and held the title of International Heavyweight Champion twice during his time in Irish Whip Wrestling.
