Selma Blair Beitner is an American actress born on June 23, 1972, in Southfield, Michigan. After training at the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting, she began her career in the mid-1990s with small and guest roles in various television series. She is known for her roles in the comedies Legally Blonde and The Sweetest Thing, and she achieved international fame portraying Liz Sherman in the fantasy films Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army. She also appeared in the 1999 film Cruel Intentions alongside co-stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe. For her work in Cruel Intentions, she won an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss for a scene shared with co-star Gellar.
